If You Want Your Dream Life, then Stop Settling

You are inherently worthy. ✨

However, growing up in a flawed world with limiting ideology stamps out this fire in most of us.

We spend our lives in therapy, reading self-help books, trying to unravel the bullshit and societal conditioning we all grew up with.

Many of us don’t even realize that we ARE great and deserve great things until we’re old and on our deathbed. We don’t realize until it’s too late—that we wasted years on the wrong relationships, and invested time and energy into experiences that weren’t even worth it at all.

That didn’t even DESERVE our time and attention.

In today’s letter, I’ll show you how to stop settling and finally tap into your greatness. Here’s the secret—it all starts INSIDE.

It takes inner work to overhaul beliefs that aren’t serving you, and replace them with those that do.

If you tell yourself you don’t deserve something, then you’ll continually attract shit into your life. If you tell yourself you’ll never be rich, or have the perfect job, or find the perfect partner, than you’ll stay poor, stay in the shitty job, and continue to settle for below bare minimum, low effort people.

What you tell yourself matters.

Today, we’ll learn how to identify which of your narratives aren’t serving you, and how to manifest your dream life from there.

You are the Algorithm

Here’s a life-changing thought—YOU are the algorithm.

Meaning, whatever you focus on most in your life is what you manifest.

Think about it.

Whatever you pour your energy into the most, whatever you think about the most, whatever you decide to invest your attention into—then the more that thing appears in your reality. The more you notice it around you.

Remember when you were a kid, and on road trips you’d play a game to spot cars of different colors? If the objective was to spot a yellow car, than that was all you saw. Same thing with the red cars, and the blue cars, and on and on. It was fairly easy to find what you wanted because you became hyper-focused on that thing.

This is confirmation bias, and it’s no different from how people are able to control how good or how shitty their life feels.

If you spend your days hating on your life, and your circumstances, and your job, then the more your life will continue to suck because you thinking this way means you will act accordingly.

Life sucks, so why bother putting effort into myself or my appearance? My job sucks, so why bother putting in more than the bare minimum?

Say you’ve been traumatized in previous relationships and are convinced that there are no good men out there. Then, you really will NEVER find a good man, because you’ll go into every circumstance and dating situation with this preconceived belief. You’ll act skeptically, you’ll refuse to open up, you’ll refuse to explore your options or give people chances because you’ve already labeled the dating market as dead.

Whatever you focus on, whatever you believe, then the MORE that your life will serve that up to you.

So essentially, you’re no different from your social media. You are no different from Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, or TikTok, serving you up content that you enjoy because THE ALGORITHM KNOWS, from the previous other posts and videos and photos that you’ve watched, commented on, and devoted countless hours to…that THAT’S what you enjoy.

So let’s give her MORE of what she wants.

The moment you realize this—the moment you become aware that you are actually in control of what you attract into your life—then the more your life will change. Because at any instant, just as you can choose to watch and consume new and different content on your socials, you can choose to be a different person.

You can CHOOSE to believe different things. To consume and give your attention to people, places, and things that actually make you feel good, instead of tear you down.

As James Clear said in Atomic Habits,

Every action you take is a vote for the type of person you wish to become.

Meaning, every action, every thought, every belief, every second and minute of your day that is spent doing things, and ruminating on things—all of these are data points that are fed into the algorithm of your life.

You are experiencing what you are, and your life is the way it is, because of the actions YOU have taken to get here.

So if you want your life to be different, then THINK different, so that you can ACT differently.

In other words, change the algorithm—i.e., you—to change your life.
