How to *Finally* Start That Thing You've Been Wanting to Start

Today, I’ll show you how to FINALLY start that thing. ✨
You know what it is.
The podcast. The book. The YouTube channel. The TikTok. The Etsy. The coaching business.
The ~big idea~ that inspires the hell out of you, that you can’t stop thinking about—but that you keep putting off…
Month after month…
Year after year…
Because you have no idea where to start, you’re afraid of failure, you’re convinced you’re not cut out for it…
Or all of the above.

Whatever THAT THING is for you—if it’s on your heart and it’s on your mind—then I’m here to remind you, it’s there for a reason.
Today, we’ll dive into the mindset and habits you’ll need in order to become a successful creator and/or entrepreneur.
What it’ll take—internally and mentally—to stay in it for the long haul.
Because you see, part of being an untouchable babe is the fearlessness to go after one’s ambitions. To embody your true authentic self, to believe that if you’ve got something valuable to offer the world, then you have every means and access to MAKE that thing a reality.
Now that doesn’t mean the process will be without its roadblocks, but the untouchable babe knows the IMPORTANCE of mindset when it comes to bringing any idea to fruition. There’s grit, there’s determination, sure, but there’s also consistency.
Embracing failure.
Expecting the worst but having a “why” so strong and profound that you know you’ll keep going, no matter what.
So…
If that thing has been on your heart, and if you’re still thinking, and thinking, and thinking…but not DOING anything…then this letter is for you.
Grab your bevvy, and let’s get into it.
⚠️ A quick note: Starting today, I’ll be shifting over to a more relaxed schedule for the newsletter and podcast, as in, I’m going to post as time allows and whenever I’m able to. Hopefully that’ll look like at least once or twice a month, but no promises.
While I’m not happy about this and as much as I’d love to post more consistently, my real life and circumstances have to take priority. As you all know, I’m a regular degular person with a very demanding day job, and this year I’m leading on some pretty intense projects at work. So if I want to stay employed and provide for my daughter, then—I’ve gotta show up for it at full capacity.
Thanks for understanding, and I hope you enjoy today’s letter.
If You Dreamt It, You Can Do It
Now remember—if you dreamt it, you can do it.
The idea came to YOU for a reason.
Not your sister, your brother, your best friend, your coworkers.
YOU.

YOU were inspired and called to bring this idea to fruition, because YOU are the most qualified visionary and engineer. This idea came to you because of YOUR particular life circumstances, a pain point or problem or cause that YOU’VE personally encountered that you know you are fully capable of addressing.
If anyone else were qualified to execute on this idea—the exact characteristics and makeup and uniqueness of it—then THEY would’ve gotten it, not you.
The very fact that you are THINKING about “this thing” at all is proof in itself that you are capable of doing it. And not only that, but you are the best, most qualified human on earth to do so.
There’s a concept from Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert that I wish I could find the quote for, but it goes like this:
Ideas are like butterflies. (I think that’s the analogy, it’s been ages since I’ve read the book.)
They fly around looking for the perfect person to bring them to life. They land on someone’s shoulder, and it’s the person’s job to recognize the idea and execute on it. The butterfly, the idea, the inspiration—it’s a visitor. It comes to visit and you decide if you’ll answer its knock and let it in. But for many of us, we never answer the door. We know what’s on the other side, we’re intrigued, we’re inspired by it—some of us may even think it to be life-changing and valuable—but for many reasons, we don’t accept it. We don’t execute on it. Maybe it’s fear, maybe it’s limiting beliefs like lack of skill or resources, intimidation, or feeling like it’s too much work to fulfill in your lifetime.
Whatever the reason, the bottom line is, tons of us are ignoring the calling.
And if the butterfly sits on the person’s shoulder long enough without being acknowledged, what do you think happens?
It flies away.
It searches for the next person, in hopes that they may be the one to acknowledge them and bring the idea to life.
I never in a million years thought that I would become a content creator, even a part-time one at that. The idea of sitting behind a camera, or my phone, to film myself and talk about my life was enough to make me gag.
There’s no way in hell that was me.
Name any limiting belief in the world, and I had it. I’m not pretty enough, I’m not sociable enough, I don’t have the charisma, I’ve never done this before, I don’t have the right gear, I hate social media, this doesn’t come natural to me…
Blah blah blah.
But for whatever reason, the butterfly decided to come and land on MY shoulder.
And I just couldn’t ignore it.

In my mind, it was a once-in-a-lifetime decision where I had nothing to lose. Either I did this now, explored this NOW, see what came of it, or I would spend the rest of my life wondering, and lie in my deathbed with all the regrets of “what if”.
What if I had never shared my story?
What if I had never started a podcast?
The idea to help women CHOSE ME because I realized my life wouldn’t be meaningful otherwise. I was a recent first-time mom, navigating postpartum and single parenthood with a full-time job, rediscovering my identity, which were all very difficult experiences to go through.
And I thought to myself—if only someone was holding my hand throughout all of this telling me it would all work out in the end.
And then I realized—I want to BE that someone for other people. For other women. I want to BE that person to say, hey, you’ll be okay. Life is still worth living. It isn’t going to be like this forever. Losing the job, the divorce, navigating motherhood alone…I know it all feels so big and scary and unreal right now, and it feels like you’re going to drown. But you’ve got it, sis. Let me show you how I did it. Let me show you how your MIND is the most powerful thing you can harness to live a life of grace, ease, and joy—no MATTER what’s going on around you.
Let me show you how to love your life.
Now I think it’s important to note that the DOING phase of this process is going to be messy.
Expect it.
Expect to want to give up. Expect not to see success or monetization or the fruits of your labor anytime soon. Expect a learning process, to keep refining and iterating for years to come.
I’ve been creating content now for over a year, and while I’ve improved in a lot of respects, there’s still a long way to go. There’s monetization. There’s finding the time for other products and services I want to create. But while the path before me is long, the important thing is that I started at all.
The butterfly chose ME, and I let them them in. 🦋
